VW ID.4

Volkswagen promise a VW ID.4 C0₂-neutral balance right from the start.

The VW ID.4 is a family urban SUV with a fantastic design concept combined with the turning circle of a small compact car, showing how attractive electric mobility can be. It comes with the choice of three battery sizes, depending on how far and in what style you’d like to drive.

All three potential battery sizes can easily handle a family’s day to day needs and beyond. The Volkswagen VW ID.4 max mileage claims range from a comfortable 211 miles up to an impressive 323 miles, beating it’s market rival the Kia e-Niro in mileage but not in price.

The ID.4 has a total of 4 trims to choose and configure to suit your needs. The ID.4 City starting at £34,650, the ID.4 Style starting at £38,150, the ID.4 Family starting at £45,520 and the ID.4 Max £49,990 (VW have priced only the City to include the government car grant as the grant doesn’t apply to cars priced over £35,000).

Battery and Charging

The battery variants are the Pure (148PS, 52Kw), Pure Performance (170PS 52kWh) and Pro Performance (77kWh). 

The entry level City and the Style options give a total range of approx. 211 miles with a choice of ‘Pure’ and ‘Pure Performance’ batteries. The Life, Family and Max options all come with the ‘Pro Performance’ battery achieving a manufacturers max range of 323, 318, 314 miles respectively.

The VW ID.4 on a fast charge at 125kW will give you 80% in approx. 30 minutes. A common service station 50kW charger will give you the same charge in 75 minutes. Plugging it into a 7kW home wall box will take about half a fay for a full charge from empty.
