Range Rover P400e Sport PHEV

Land Rover have launched their first electric vehicles, a Range Rover PHEV and this, the Range Rover P400e Sport, a plug in hybrid.

The P400e combines the 300bhp four-cylinder Ingenium petrol  with an 85kW electric motor (housed on the transmission) powered by a 13.1kWh lithium-ion battery stored under the boot floor. This combines to a total power of 404bhp and 472lb-ft of torque feeding all-wheels. Performance is brisk for such a large vehicle at 0-60mph in 6.3 seconds and on to a top speed of 137mph.

An EV only range of 31 miles for a car is enough for round the town activities, Land Rover says that a full charge can be achieved in two hours and 45 minutes using a dedicated wall box, or seven hours and 30 minutes using a standard plug.

The P400e claims to deliver CO2 emissions of 64g/km and fuel economy of up to 101mpg on the combined cycle.
