The Audi A3 Sportback e-tron was Audi’s first plug-in hybrid.
Originally launched in 2014 and updated in 2016 the Audi A3 Sportback e-tron features a 75kw electric motor combined with a 1.4 petrol engine.s as practical as it is efficient.
Charging
The Audi A3 Sportback e-tron can be charged in two ways:
- In approximately 2.15 hours using a home wall box, or a public charging point with a 3.6 kW, Type 2 Socket
- In approximately 3 hours via a domestic 3-pin socket and 230v, 10A power supply
Range
Powered by just the electric motor, the A3 e-tron Sporback has a range of up to 29 miles. In hybrid mode with the petrol engine the car has an extended range of up to 536 miles.
Performance
With its 1.4 petrol engine boosted by the 75kW electric motor the A3 Sportback e-tron accelerates from 0 to 62 in a brisk but not outstanding 7.6 seconds.
Efficiency
The Audi A3 Sportback e-tron PHEV is efficient with low emissions, Audi claims a combined 166.2 mpg and CO2 output from 38g/km. Obviously driving purely with the electric motor reduces the emissions to zero.
